Commissions

I am available for commissioned works. Contact me.

I am currently working on two major non-commissioned pieces. The first is for mezzo oprano and orchestra and is a song cycle which is expected to be about 40 minutes long. The text consists of poems written by my grandmother on the untimely death of her husband, whom she was obviously very much in love with. Although the poetry is heartbreakingly sad it presents a wonderful basis for some beautiful music. Music for the first of the poems has been completed and has had a semi-public hearing (July 2009) where it was well received.

The second is a shorter (expected 12-15 minutes) piece for cello and orchestra. This is in its early stages - I am up to my 12th major re-write for the opening bars!
I still enjoy popular music particularly if it has soul. Are there any lyricists out there brave enough to try a composer with a classical bias?
